'My paintings are primarily seascapes. The continual interchange of the elements - rock, sand, sea, weather and, above all light, is their subject matter. Theyare painted in oils on unprimed board.
I try to maintain a balance between subject matter and the effects of paint so that both may be simultaneously read and enjoyeed. In a similar manner, the layers of paint create an illusion of space, depth and distance as well as surface pattern.
