The drawings on exhibition arise from the use of an 'ideas processing' technique which Alan carries out while pursuing various topics he is studying. each work is the product of a particular idea or set of ideas which is being investigated. Besides this ideas processing function he tries to bring together the various aspects of his training and research interests - these are, fine art practice, text/diagram based theorectical research and visual or pictorial aesthetics.
