ARTS UNDERGROUND COMES TO SURFACE : ' Pandoras Box '

LeamingtonÕs underground culture is coming into the light with an exhibition celebrating the work of three local professional artists.
The exhibition is being staged in the basement studio of landscape painter Rebekah Sutton whose light and delicate work will hang alongside Neil MooreÕs vigorous figure paintings. The trio is completed by electronic media artist Bill Jackson who has created a new art installation inspired by classic childrenÕs literature.
Rebekah said: "For its size, Leamington has an amazingly large number of artists at work Š not so surprising when you consider the visual attractions of the area. "We hope that the exhibition will give people the opportunity to discover a little of what is going on just below the surface of their home town."
Bill, whose work has been displayed across Britain and has also staged a one-man show in New York, said: "All three of us have found that Leamington is a town where creativity can flourish." BillÕs art installation draws from The Secret Garden and The Water Babies and uses projected images to give an intriguing glimpse into a mysterious world.
The exhibition takes place from July 6 until July 14 at the basement of 11a Church Street, Leamington. Entry is free from 11am until 8pm. Work by Rebekah Sutton, Neil Moore and Bill Jackson is show on the Leamington Studio ArtistsÕ website at www.lsa-artists.co.uk The website is designed by Bill Jackson and Nick Middleton of Cobaltuk Ltd and has already been awarded a prestigious Golden Web Award by the International Association of Web Masters and Designers.
