Statement
Making my art is still taking me on a long journey of discovery. My subject matter is, and always has been varied and covers the use of many kinds of media. Much of the inspiration I get comes from the narrative behind the particular subject and the way, time and place the subject was discovered.
I have experimented with my art-making over the years and find this to be the most exiting part of being an artist. I enjoy both figurative and abstract subjects using both traditional and new media.
My continuing journey covers painting, video and photography, the last previously being used as a reference but which is now proving to be a significantly important part of my practice. I will continue to use any media to its fullest potential if I find it is suitable in relation to the subject chosen. I am using mixed media in some of my current work relating to the landscape as subject, which can also influence the behaviour of the materials I choose to use.
I have no idea how long my journey will be or where it will take me but I do know that the art that I make will have come from a lifetimes experience.

Being a mature student, all of the foregoing events were in my years after retirement at 64 and were a culmination of my aims to become more involved in making art without the pressures of being employed.
At present, apart from making my own work, I am involved in keeping Warwickshire Artsweek 2008 on course.
My studio is at The Grid, Harborough Magna, which I share with several more artists.
